Shopping & banking

Shops are open from Monday to Saturday from 09.00am to 06.00pm and are closed the whole day on Sunday (few souvenir shops are open on Sundays). Banks are open from Monday to Friday from 09.00am to 04.00pm and closed on Saturday,Sunday and Public Holidays. All major credit cards are accepted. ATM machines are available in major cities.

Things to buy

Belgium is world famous for its Chocolate and its Beer (more than 450 different kind of beers). Other typical Belgian souvenir would be also: Lace (in Bruges and Brussels), Speculoos (biscuits with Ginger), Flemish or Brussels Tapestries, Diamonds (in Antwerp), Comics (ex : Tintin), Walloon Crafts or Val St-Lambert crystal.

Currency

The currency used in Belgium is € (EURO), the new European money valid in different countries of the European Community.

Throughout the country, VAT and service are included in hotel and restaurant prices.
