A DAY IN BASTOGNE

Meet your guide in the lobby of your hotel and leave towards Bastogne, situated at 195km from Brussels, in the Belgian Ardennes. 

Visit the city which was hit during the WWII. The American GI’s paid a tribute during that battle at the Mardasson. Visit the Historical Centre of Bastogne, one of the world's finest war museums, which offers:

- COLLECTIONS: the authentic uniforms, weapons and equipment of the fighters

- CINEMA: a 30-minute film telling the story of the battle of the Bulge showing the best extracts filmed during the battle. Comments are in 4 languages: English, French, Dutch and German.

- SPECIAL FEATURES: this is a historic site with the American memorial, it offers a wonderful view over Bastogne and its surroundings, it's a star-shaped building with a souvenir shop and a bookshop specialized in military publications

WALLONIA, CASTLE
AND BEER

We invite you to discover the southern part of the country, outside the beaten tracks, less known. Depart from Brussels around 8:30am to reach the brewery at 10:00am for your first stop and visit.

Start with the visit of this brewery situated in the Bocq’s valley. This traditional brewery was built in 1858 by the family Belot. Since this time, they dedicate their time to brew the beer. Take the time to follow the guide who will explain you the special production techniques in a guided tour followed by the tasting of one of their beer’s production.

Transfer to Dinant for the lunch.

During the afternoon discover the Vêves castle, situated in Celles, at the borders of the Belgian Ardennes. The castle represents one of the jewels of the province of Namur. This ancient fortress was built on a rock and was surrounded by ravines and protected by external defenses, towers and ramparts, nowadays disappeared. In the 17th century, artificial gardens and easy access road for the horse-cars are created. 

Depart at about 4:30pm to reach Brussels around 6:00pm.

ARTISTS AND GARDENS IN SOUTH BELGIUM

Leave Brussels at about 09h00 and drive towards the southern part of the country. Make a first stop at the Folon’s Fondation situated La Hulpe’s park.

Folon took root in this part of the country and therefore decided to have a unique place where all his works would be exposed, the work of a whole life. Over 300 significant works are here exposed. The artist wanted the works to be shown through a special way, and he created the space, the 15 rooms and the idea used to show its life work. In about 1h30, you will discover this artist’s work.

During the afternoon, we propose you the visit of the Annevoie Gardens. Conceived and arranged between 1758 and 1776 by Charles-Alexis de Montpellier, maintained and preserved by its descendants, the gardens of Annevoie are nowadays, a real historical testimony and treasure the nature has also ‘naturally’ beautify. These gardens ‘à la française’ have integrated, throughout the time, different components from the Italian and English styles. Because of the association between these three cultures, they have been renamed gardens at European style.

Depart around 4:30pm to reach Brussels around 6:00pm.
